Representing Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño, Francisco Acuña Méndez, honorary president of the Council for Sustainable Development (CODESO), is making an official two-day visit to Sacramento, California.
The delegation aims, on Tuesday, August 6 and Wednesday, August 7, to promote the Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan and strengthen bilateral cooperation between Sonora and California.

During his stay, Acuña Méndez will hold key meetings with the California Energy Commission, assembly members, and business leaders. His agenda includes presenting the benefits of the Sonora Plan, focused on the generation of renewable energies and electromobility, as well as promoting actions against climate change.
On his first day of activities, Acuña Méndez met with David Hoschild, chairman of the California Energy Commission.

He also participates in the activities of the 15th California-Mexico Advocacy Day, where he met with members of the State Senate’s Select Committee for Mexico-California Cooperation and Dialogue in Sacramento, highlighting Sonora at the annual event that reinforces Mexico’s representation in U.S. politics and underscores the alliance between Sonora and California.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, continuing with the California-Mexico Advocacy Day activities, Acuña Méndez will lead a breakfast organized by the Chamber of Commerce, where he will present the business opportunities offered by the Sonora Plan.

This visit, coordinated by the Consul General of Mexico in California, Christian Tonatiuh González, seeks to strengthen the ties between Mexico and California and advance the sustainability and energy development agenda promoted by the Sonora Plan.
