CODESO also has the responsibility of fostering the economic conditions to attract investments, both domestic and foreign, and promoting the growth of existing companies. Additionally, it seeks to establish strategies that drive the creation of collaborative and circular value chains, as well as green economies of scale, for the benefit of local and regional businesses.

Mission

In this sense, we coordinate strategic efforts to establish collaborative and circular value chains with the aim of promoting the development of local and regional companies without compromising the opportunities and well-being of the next generations.

HONORARY PRESIDENT OF CODESO

Dr. Francisco Acuña Méndez

He is a lawyer from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico and the New York State Bar Association in the United States. Additionally, he holds a Master of Laws from Georgetown University, an MBA from Harvard University, and a Master in Business from the Blekinge Institute of Technology in Switzerland. He also has a doctorate from the Mexican Institute of Strategic Studies in National Security and Defense of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena).

CODESO COORDINATOR

Dr. Diego Alberto Avilés Quintanar

Master in Economic Integration and Doctor in Regional Development. Member of the National System of Researchers of CONAHCYT. He has experience in the public sector and legislative matters. He is a Professor-Researcher and was a Legislative Advisor in the Congress of Sonora during the period 2009 - 2015. He currently serves as the Executive Coordinator of the Council for Sustainable Development of the State of Sonora (CODESO).

It was founded in 2016 with the function of providing accessible financing to companies that, under the conditions of traditional credit, cannot access sufficient resources for their development and consolidation. Its objective is to promote the conditions of sustainable economic development of the State of Sonora through the implementation of timely, accessible, transparent, low-cost financing schemes, differentiated by productive sectors and regions of the State. FIDESON's specific programs are: Empléate, My First Credit, Active Woman, Sonora SME, Promotion of Cooperatives in Sonora, Promotion of Green Energies, and Small Livestock Producers of Sonora.

PROSONORA is a Decentralized Public Organization of the State Public Administration, created by Decree published on December 27, 2017 and reformed on August 21, 2023. PROSONORA links the business sector with the Government, promotes favorable economic conditions, promotes infrastructure, manages parks industrial and supports competitiveness and economic development. In addition, it celebrates agreements, identifies productive projects, promotes regional advantages and encourages the creation of MSMEs. It also manages resources and proposes growth strategies.

MPULSOR was founded on February 28, 2005 with the objective of promoting and executing strategic programs and projects for the development of the State and its regions, as well as the strengthening and expansion of infrastructure necessary for economic growth and attracting investments. Its Medium-Term Institutional Program defines the key projects to meet these objectives. The main current project is the Hermosillo Science Park, a 325-hectare space dedicated to research and development (R&D) and advanced manufacturing, in order to promote innovation, technology transfer and sustainable development. For its implementation, the required environmental documentation and the construction of basic infrastructure, such as water conduction lines, electricity and natural gas services, are being managed. In addition to the Science Park, IMPULSOR is working on the conceptualization of the Port of Guaymas and on the improvement of the Tianguis Héctor Espino.
