Sonora ranks among the top ten exporting states in the first quarter of 2024

Among the 10 most competitive entities in the country with the highest exports during the first quarter of 2024, Sonora ranks third in the agricultural subsector in terms of export value with a record of 563.4 million dollars, which represents 11.3 percent of the commercial activity in this area in Mexico, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), informed Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño.

The Sonoran leader highlighted that these figures represent an annual increase of 18.6 percent in the agricultural subsector, placing the state only after Michoacán with 1.306 billion dollars and Sinaloa with 1.034 billion dollars.

In addition, the state ranked eighth in the country’s total exports during the first three months of this year, registering 6,746 million dollars in exports.

In the manufacturing sector, Sonora reported 5.412 billion dollars, of which 2.408 billion dollars correspond to the manufacture of transportation equipment, accounting for 35.7 percent of total exports in the first quarter of 2024.
