The Governor of Sonora, Alfonso Durazo Montaño, is on a working tour this Monday, March 17, in the State of California, United States, with the objective of strengthening cooperation in the areas of economic development, clean energy and education, as well as consolidating strategic alliances with key actors in the political and business spheres.
During his visit to Sacramento, the Sonoran Governor will hold meetings with leaders of the state legislature, the business sector, and California Governor Gavin Newsom.

Among the scheduled meetings, notable encounters include discussions with the Speaker of the California Assembly, Robert Rivas, the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, Mike McGuire, and the President of the California Chamber of Commerce, Jennifer Barrera, where they will address topics related to investment, trade, and business mobility.
Additionally, Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño will hold a private meeting with Governor Gavin Newsom, during which they will formalize a cooperation agreement positioning Sonora as a key partner in North America’s energy transition.
At the end of the day, the governor will also hold a dialogue with legislators from the Latino Caucus of the California Capitol, reaffirming Sonora’s commitment to diplomacy and regional development.
“We are divided by a border, but united by a commitment to build a more prosperous and sustainable future for our communities. This tour is key to strengthening the ties of cooperation and consolidating the state of Sonora as a leader in clean energy and technological development,” said Governor Alfonso Durazo.
With this work tour, Sonora reaffirms its leadership in the region and its commitment to innovation, education, and sustainability.
