The Governor drives the transformation of public transportation in HMO with electric units through the Sonora Plan

The Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan translates into direct benefits for citizens with the implementation of a public transportation system based on electric units, enabling more efficient and sustainable mobility in harmony with environmental care, highlighted Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño.

Currently, five electric units operate on Line 18, benefiting 125,000 users of the General Specialty Hospital and 14,000 people who visit the General Hospital of Zone 14 of the IMSS in Hermosillo.

“From the State Government, we are transforming public transportation with electric units that offer a more dignified, safe, and inclusive service. With the Sonora Plan, we continue moving towards sustainable mobility that improves the quality of life for the people of Sonora,” stated the governor.

In this regard, Elvia Molina, a public transportation user, thanked Governor Alfonso Durazo for supporting public transportation through the introduction of this new electric unit, whose route can be monitored via a mobile app.

“We left the hospital to see what was going on and came across this nice, comfortable, and brand-new little bus,” she commented.

Meanwhile, José Luis Camacho, the unit’s operator, expressed his satisfaction at being the first to drive an electric bus in the state and encouraged citizens to make good use of this service, as it is designed for their benefit.

“I feel, as they say, fulfilled to be driving the first electric unit in Sonora. It was needed, especially for those traveling to hospitals. These buses are necessary,” he stated.
