The 30 young people who will travel on scholarships to Taiwan are ready

The Council for Sustainable Development of Sonora (CODESO) has begun the second and final stage of training for 30 young engineers from Sonora who will travel on scholarships from the Government of Sonora to Taiwan.

Francisco Acuña Méndez, honorary president of the Council for Sustainable Development of Sonora (CODESO), announced that the first group of young engineers will depart for the Asian region in August, while the second group will do so in September.

“It is an important effort that Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño promotes within the Sonora Plan for the development of human talent,” he added.

In this last stage of training by CODESO, he detailed that the young engineers will receive training in Emotional Intelligence, English Conversation, Leadership, and Effective Communication, essential skills to make the most of the scholarship provided by the State Government for their travel to Taiwan.

The engineers from Sonora will study for one year at prestigious universities in Taiwan, such as Tsing Hua University, Cheng Kung University, and Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology.

Sonoran university students will undergo training in essential key areas for energy transition, including electromobility, automation, and semiconductors-sectors where the Asian giant unquestionably stands out as a global leader.

Acuña Méndez explained that the territory of Sonora possesses some of the most important lithium deposits in the world, a crucial resource for manufacturing rechargeable batteries used in electric vehicles and portable electronic devices.

“The vision of Governor Alfonso Durazo is for us, the people of Sonora, to take full advantage of lithium exploitation and the establishment of industries related to renewable energy generation and semiconductors. In other words, Sonora for Sonorans,” he stated.

With this program, Sonora is betting on the development and welfare of the State hand in hand with its youth, aiming to consolidate itself as a major international destination with highly skilled personnel ready for future investments.
