Sonora Plan presented at the Industrial TransformationMexico 2024 Fair, in Leon, GTO

Diego Avilés, executive coordinator of the Council for the Economic Development of Sonora (CODESO), had an outstanding participation in the Industrial Transformation Mexico 2024 Fair, where he presented the Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan, an ambitious initiative that positions Sonora as a leader in clean energy and economic sustainability.

During his presentation, Avilés, who attended on behalf of Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño, highlighted the strategic projects that are part of the Sonora Plan. Among these, he mentioned the construction of the photovoltaic plant in Puerto Peñasco, the Gas Liquefaction Plant in Puerto Libertad, the modernization of the port of Guaymas, the expansion of the Guaymas-Chihuahua highway, the modernization of the border ports and the expansion of the Cajeme airport. He also emphasized the promotion of sustainable mining, a key sector for regional economic growth.

Avilés emphasized that these projects not only strengthen the local and national economy, but also represent a firm commitment to sustainable development.

“Sonora Plan is transforming the state into a pillar of clean energy, and its impact will be felt both in industry and in the quality of life of the people of Sonora,” he said.

The Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan is an initiative promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and the Governor of Sonora, Alfonso Durazo Montaño. In this context, one of the main areas is Human Talent, which seeks to prepare young people in prestigious institutions worldwide to turn them into future leaders who will drive technological and industrial progress in northwestern Mexico.
