Sonora Government highlights President Sheinbaum’s support for the production of Olinia in Sonora

Sonora will be one of the states where the Mexican electric vehicle Olinia will be assembled, in line with the aspects of the Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan, due to its competitiveness and potential in the use of sustainable resources, electromobility, and semiconductors, creating the necessary niche for the production of this vehicle driven by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, emphasized Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño.

Governor recognizes the support of Mexico’s president for Sonora to be one of the main sites for the manufacturing of this vehicle, as its industrial vocation and the promotion of sustainable development through electromobility position the state at the forefront of electric vehicle production.

In her morning press conference, President Sheinbaum Pardo announced that Sonora is an important niche for the manufacturing of the Olinia electric vehicle, as the goal is to make units with a more affordable cost than commercial compact vehicles, taking into account logistics considerations such as transportation.

The Chief of Staff added that the state is up to the challenge of building the Olinia electric vehicle, as with the Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan, in the electromobility aspect, the state is advancing globally toward a more environmentally friendly development.
