President López Obrador delivers historic investment for 7 strategic projects in Guaymas

The historic investment made by the Government of Mexico in the seven projects of the National Port Administration in Guaymas (Asipona) positions Guaymas as an economic development hub, also aligned with the axes of the Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan, stated Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño during the visit of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo to Sonora.

The head of the State Executive highlighted that the inauguration of the seven Asipona projects, including the Guaymas-Chihuahua highway, the construction of the Multi-Use Dock, the Mineral Warehouse, the modernization of the railway circuit, the courtyard of the Guaymas Tourist Marina, the rehabilitation of Aquiles Serdán Avenue, and the rehabilitation of Tres Presidentes Plaza, shows all the support the Government of Mexico has given to Sonora.

During the second joint visit to the state by President López Obrador and President-elect Sheinbaum Pardo, the Governor emphasized that with the joint actions being carried out with the Government of Mexico, this is Sonora’s moment, bringing well-being and economic development to its citizens.

“We are living a moment comparable to those described in the history books, we are a few days away from President López Obrador concluding his administration, and we have the deep satisfaction that he will face the judgment of history with his head held high and accompanied by the hearts of his people. Without rhetorical intent, with heartfelt sincerity, we say to you, President: you are among the greats of our history”, he said.

During this working tour, the reopening of Guaymas Airport also took place, which will improve the port’s connectivity, making it more attractive for tourism development and the arrival of more investments.

President López Obrador highlighted Governor Durazo Montaño’s leadership of the State administration, which has resulted in significant investments benefiting the people of Sonora.

“We will keep moving forward; my brother Alfonso says it’s been 29 visits. I’ll still come here one more time, to a place near Guaymas, because we need to deliver the Irrigation District and the Aqueduct to the Yaqui People. I’ll come for the Justice Plan, also with President Claudia, always bringing good news as Alfonso”, he noted.

President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo mentioned that when her federal administration officially begins, she will continue the major projects being carried out in the state, with the well-being of the citizens as the central focus.

“There’s a piece of land in Empalme that belonged to the National Railways; we’re going to transfer it to the Secretary of the Navy so that the Port of Guaymas can continue to develop, with an addition, because just as the President initiated social programs and recovered the railroads, the trains in the south, we’re now going to head north. We’ll extend the railway all the way to Nogales”, she commented.
