Governor Durazo positions Sonora in second place nationally for industrial growth

Sonora is the second-fastest-growing state in industrial development nationwide, with a 7.4% increase in October 2024, this demonstrates the drive and efforts of Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño to position Sonora’s industrial sector as a national leader, according to figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography.

The state’s chief executive highlighted data from the Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity by State (IMAIEF), which showed this increase in October 2024, placing Sonora as a national example, second only to Tamaulipas, which recorded a 12.7% growth. This reflects the positive impact of strategies such as the Sonora Plan, implemented by the state government to strengthen the region’s industrial sector.

Governor Durazo stated that the manufacturing industry in the state saw a 12.5% increase, placing Sonora as the leading state in the northern border region in terms of manufacturing growth.

In the construction sector, the state experienced a 9.7% increase, along with an 8.7% rise in the energy sector.
