The Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan has been key for the entity to become a strategic point in the country’s technological development. For this reason, the state will play a fundamental role in Mexico’s Semiconductor Development Plan and in the consolidation of the “Kutsari” National Semiconductor Design Center, said Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño.
President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, during the announcement of the project, highlighted the benefits of the Sonora Plan, which have turned the state into a strategic axis for the development of advanced technology in the country. In this context, Sonora, along with Jalisco and Puebla, will be key to boosting the semiconductor industry and strengthening Mexico’s technological sovereignty, said the state governor.
The governor of Sonora, Alfonso Durazo, has been a key player in the implementation of the Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan, a visionary project that seeks to drive the country’s energy transition and take advantage of the state’s potential to attract strategic investments in high-tech sectors, such as semiconductor design and manufacturing.
In addition, Sonora already hosts a unit of the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE), which reinforces its vocation as a hub of innovation and technological development in the country.
