In the framework of the plenary meeting of the Sonora – United States and Arizona – Mexico Commissions, which concluded today in Hermosillo, Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño held a private meeting with the Governor of Arizona, Katie Hobbs, and the U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar, during which they exchanged gifts as a symbol of friendship and collaboration between the two states.
The state governor shared details of this important meeting on his social networks, highlighting the importance of bilateral cooperation.
In addition, Governor Durazo welcomed businessmen and participants from both nations, reaffirming his commitment to work together to strengthen the Sonora-Arizona megaregion, promoting a prosperous and sustainable future.
Ambassador Salazar noted in his X account that he had a productive dialogue with members of both commissions, focusing on taking advantage of the T-MEC as an engine to boost prosperity and development in the macro-region. He especially highlighted the potential of key industries, such as semiconductors, for shared economic growth.
