As part of the efforts to strengthen investment attraction in Sonora and establish the state as a benchmark in sustainable development, Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño met with representatives of Foxconn, a leading electronics manufacturing company, to finalize globally impactful projects in the state.
During the meeting, the state leader emphasized the importance of promoting the development of smart cities and new industries related to electromobility and sustainable technology. He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to positioning Sonora as a hub for innovation and advanced manufacturing in the technology sector.
“We are making progress on truly strategic projects. This is a second approach to finalizing investments that will soon yield results in our state. It has been an extraordinary and highly productive meeting, with great understanding and a firm commitment to materializing investments that will strengthen Sonora’s economy,” said Governor Durazo.
Meanwhile, Allen Blue, Foxconn’s representative in Mexico, recognized the governor’s leadership in promoting the state as a key destination for sustainable development, highlighting that this initiative will allow Sonora and the country to position themselves at the forefront of technology and new industries.
As part of this work agenda, Governor Durazo Montaño also met with Roberto Capuano, head of the Olinia project, the first Mexican electric car. During the meeting, Capuano emphasized that the Sonora Plan represents a key boost for the consolidation of this initiative within the electromobility sector.
