The beginning of the construction of gas liquefaction plant in Guaymas will follow up the investment projects for the state in terms of sustainability contemplated in the Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan, for the benefit of the state’s economic development, said Governor Algonso Durazo Montaño.
The state governor announced that it will be next august when the first stone will be laid to start the construction of the natural gas plant in Guaymas, with an investment of around $6.8 billion dollars in two construction phases by the company Amigo LNG, which contemplates the production of liquefied gas from Texas to India, Indonesia, Japan and Korea, which will allow the development of the Port of Guaymas as it will be the exit point to the Pacific.

“A company named Amigo LNG is the owner of this plant that will be built in Guaymas, with an investment of $6.8 billion dollars in two phases, $3.4 billion dollars in the first phase, and a second phase with a new investment, a liquefaction module that costs $3.4 billion dollars”, he said.

The Governor Durazo Montaño detailed that this type of investments turn Guaymas into a development hub for the economic relaunch of the state, locating Sonora as a global benchmark in the use of sustainable energy.
With the axis that form up the Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan and the arrival of new investments the commercial exchange between Mexico and the United States increases, where the state contributes to the decarbonization of the global economy.
