The Government of the State of Sonora, through the Council for Sustainable Development (Codeso), informed that the registration period to participate in the second generation of the Student Mobility Program to Taiwan has been extended until April 22nd.
Codeso’s executive president, Francisco Acuña Méndez, explained that the extension of the registration was due to the interest shown by the students and to the fact that young people with the potential to participate, but who do not have a valid passport, were identified.
“We want all young people who meet the requirements to have the same opportunity to participate. As Governor Alfonso Durazo has pointed out, the selection will be strictly merit-based,” he said.
Acuña Méndez explained that the age range of the call for applications has also been extended, from 24 to 27 years of age.
“In our visits to universities we found instances of young people who are studying and meet most of the requirements, except for age. Therefore, we value it and we extend the age limit so that more young people can participate,” he expressed.
He pointed out that the Student Mobility Program is part of the Human Talent Development axis of the Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan and its goal is to prepare engineers and technicians from Sonora in strategic sectors such as semiconductors, electromobility and clean energy.
For his role, Codeso’s executive coordinator, Diego Avilés, invited interested young people to register on the website codeso.mx.
He reminded that the scholarship includes tuition at prestigious universities, housing, meals, medical insurance, a laptop and resources for living expenses during the 10 months of the program.
